An Independent Voice for Housing Policy
HBAV BuildPAC is the housing industry’s political action committee — it’s how we elevate awareness of the issues impacting our builders’ and developers’ ability to deliver a diversity of new housing stock to meet Virginia’s growing demand.
We support state legislators and candidates who understand the important role the housing industry plays in our state and local economies — and who recognize that land-use, zoning, and other housing-related policies passed by the Virginia General Assembly have a direct impact on the industry’s ability to provide housing opportunities for individuals and families across the income spectrum.
Your investment into BuildPAC ensures that our industry’s collective voice is heard in Richmond. Funds may be given by both corporate and individual sources.

Fully Transparent

What BuildPAC Fights For
BuildPAC doesn't back parties — it backs positions. These are the policy areas where Virginia's housing industry needs a strong, sustained voice in government.
Housing Affordability
The cost to build a home in Virginia is rising — driven not just by materials and labor, but by impact fees, permitting delays, and local regulations that add tens of thousands to a home's price before a single nail is driven. BuildPAC supports officials who treat affordability as a policy priority, not just a talking point.
Sensible Permitting and Regulation
Overregulation doesn't just cost money — it costs time, and time costs housing. BuildPAC advocates for streamlined permitting processes, reasonable building codes, and state oversight that protects both consumers and the builders who serve them.
Infrastructure Investment
Roads, water, and sewer infrastructure are the foundation of new housing development. When localities underfund infrastructure and pass the cost directly to builders through excessive proffers and impact fees, housing production stalls and costs soar. BuildPAC champions officials who fund infrastructure properly.
Workforce Development
Virginia's housing industry faces a generational workforce shortage. BuildPAC supports policies that fund skilled trades education, expand apprenticeship programs, and create pathways into the construction industry for the next generation of Virginia builders.
